A letter from the Scholastic Awards

Dear Teens, Educators, and Parents,

Thank you again for your patience as we continue to navigate the new portal for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Since December, we have been exploring ways to provide students who were prevented from participating in the Awards due to technology this season with alternate means for submitting. We are disappointed to share that this is not a viable option this year, both from a technological perspective as well as from a human-resources perspective.

As a reminder, the Awards’ submission guidelines do not stipulate that work must be created within a specific timeframe, nor does it limit number of submissions. With this in mind, we encourage those students who were prevented from participating this year and who are eligible to participate in the 2025 Awards to re-enter their works and submit new ones in the fall of 2024.

The 2024 Region-at-Large Award recipients will be announced on March 29, 2024, and a virtual celebration for our Award winners will follow in May 2024. Additionally, Gold Key works will advance to national adjudication, and national medalists will be announced on June 12, 2024. We are also planning a virtual celebration to celebrate these national medalists in August 2024.

We will keep you informed of any key dates as they become finalized. Thank you so much again for being a part of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Sincerely,

Chris Wisniewski
